Lisa & Hollis McNatt

2004 Spiral Grey Coupe

Is this your first Corvette? If not, list previous years, styles, and colors: This is our third Corvette. Our first corvette was a 1970 grey coupe, small block engine and a 4 speed. Purchased in the late 80's.
Second corvette story: A customer of mine in Fallon Nevada found a 69 Corvette convertible in a barn of one of his customers. It had been parked for years and at that time the corvette market was high. He offered the owner five grand for the car. I told him that if ever wanted to sell it I would be interested. On February 15, 1992 just before quitting time Lisa called me and said a guy just dropped off an old beat up corvette in the drive way and wants a check for five grand. That's how we got our second corvette. It is still a work in progress after all these years.

What first attracted you to Corvettes? When was that or how old were you? I started turning wrenches when I was nine years old and was attracted to the sleek design and speed of the corvettes.

How did you come to acquire this Corvette? We had just left the Sacramento Home and Garden show and Lisa said why we don't drive by and look at the new corvettes. We pulled into the parking lot at John L's just as this beautiful corvette had just came off the truck. It sparkled in the twilight of the evening. There was a salesman standing by it as we approached, he wouldn't give us the time of day. Then a young guy came by and said "Hey let's take it for a ride". The next thing we knew I was driving it home.

What modifications, if any, have you done to this car? This car is completely stock.

What modifications, if any, do you have planned for this car? I plan no modifications to this car.

What do you like best about Corvettes? The "Look"!

How long have you been members of RCCC? We purchased our corvette in January 2004 and joined RCCC in February 2004.

What offices have you held or runs you've put on? I tried to develop a "Tech Talk" for a few months about 4 years ago, but it died from lack of interest. Lisa and I along with Bob and Roberta Hinchman put on one of RCCC best ever run "The Great Race through the Sierra's" in October 2006. Lisa has been on the call around tree for six years and she has put on several Valentine Parties and assisted with the yearly crab feeds contributing the decorations.

What do you like about RCCC? Making new friends and traveling in groups of corvettes on runs. Plus the camaraderie that develops amongst members supporting each other in good times and bad.

What other interesting facts might others enjoy knowing about you? (Occupation, hobbies, family, recent vacation, etc. Feel free to add any other interesting Corvette related story.): We are both native Californians having been raised in the Sacramento area. Lisa and I met on a blind date and have been married for 32 years. We have two grown children; Jeremy and Lindsay. Our son lives in Reno and our daughter lives in Las Vegas. I have been in the clutch and brake industry for forty one years. I enjoy working on older cars. I am restoring the 69 corvette. I also enjoy bicycle riding. I average about 75 miles each weekend and yes; I am back on the bike after my recent accident. Our latest hobby is we have taken up target shooting with pistols. Lisa has been a stay at home mom now for 30 years and she enjoys gardening, cooking, collecting recipes and decorating for each and every holiday. With both kids living away we spend a lot of time traveling to their homes to help out. We would like to buy a fixer-upper and try flipping a house as our next endeavor.
