What first attracted you to Corvettes? When was that or how old were you? My brother-in-law bought a new 1965 big block in 1965. I was hooked!

How did you come to acquire this Corvette? I was looking for a mid year and stumbled across the 1962 at a Corvette consignment place in Pleasanton back in Feb. 1992. It was a fresh frame off restoration. Engine, transmission, rear end had been gone through. I sold my '87 and drove the '62 home.
I wanted a C6 Z06 and I liked the Jetstream blue. Lo and behold, Performance Chevy had one set up just the way I wanted it.

What modifications have you done to this car?  The '62- rebuilt distributor, carb, and replaced radiator over the past several years. I want to keep it stock.
The '08 Z06- built in radar detector; I added a by-pass to eliminate the economy manual shift feature.

Modifications Planned: The '62 will remain stock. The '08 Z06 I want to add a clear bra and a rear spoiler.

What do you like best about Corvettes? I think it is the only true American sports car! Also, I enjoy the bond among Corvette owners.

How long have you been a member of RCC? It's been just over a year.

What offices have you held or runs you've put on? None. We just try to help out where we can.

What do you like about RCC?  The people, all the social events, and the opportunity to talk corvettes with the club members.

What other interesting facts might others enjoy knowing about you? Both of us retired this past June. Margo taught 2nd grade for 35 years. Clarke was in Sales management for 35 years for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems. They specialize in brake systems for all the commercial vehicles (18 wheelers). Clarke spent 13 years outside Cleveland, Ohio at Corp. Offices with responsibility for all replacement sales for the Vehicle Manufacturers in the U.S. and Canada. He also had inter-divisional sales responsibilities for Western Europe and Mexico. Living in Cleveland area created "quality of life issues" for us and the company agreed to let us come back to Calif. 18 years ago. Clarke was a jogger for 26 years doing 6 miles a day until 5 years ago when the knees said we aren't doing this anymore!
Margo enjoys high tea, scrap-booking, reading, and traveling.
It's safe to say Clarke enjoys Corvette stuff!
