September 2008 Corvette of the Month

Ron and Marty Farnetti's 2003 Torch Red Coupe

Name: Ron & Marty Farnetti

Current Corvette: 2003 Torch Red Coupe

Previous Corvettes:  1959 Red Convertible and a 1986 White Coupe (ended up putting over 200K miles on this car!)

What first attracted you to Corvettes? When was that or how old were you? When I was a senior in high school a friend quit school got a job and bought a 57 Vette. I decided then that someday I would have my own.

How did you come to acquire this Corvette? Bought over internet; Maxie Price Chevrolet, Monroe, Georgia.

What modifications have you done to this car?  None.

Modifications Planned: None.

What do you like best about Corvettes? They have always looked great!

How long have you been a member of RCC? Since 1993.

What offices have you held or runs you've put on? I have been assisting the club in tax filing since 2002. Marty has been working on the club's phone tree for over four years.

What do you like about RCC?  Nice people; nice runs. Just love seeing a string of Vettes tooling down a winding road.

What other interesting facts might others enjoy knowing about you? Ron has been a member of a Doo-Wop Acappella Sextet (B Natural) for over six years. We entertained at the RCC Aug. meeting last year. Love to cruise. Just returned from Northern Europe (Russia, Estonia, Germany, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.)  Marty and I went back to Bowling Green with the club in 2003. We kept joining up with other Vette groups that left the motels at a (more respectable) time, as our club seemed to gather at around 6:30 am to get a good early start.
