What first attracted you to Corvettes? When was that or how old were you? Chuck's first Corvette attraction:   At age 11 my dad took me to the local Chevrolet dealer showroom to see a 1953 (white, of course) Corvette and all those carburetors on the blue flame six!  It was brand new.  I was very impressed at 11 years of age and I am still impressed today!
Carolyn's first Corvette attraction:  At age 18, Chuck came to pick me up for a date and instead of the 409 Chevy, he was driving a beautiful red 62 fuel injected Corvette!  Those summer evening rides with the hard top off, was and still is one of my favorite Corvette experiences.

How was this Corvette acquired?  We purchased new from local Chevrolet dealer.

Modifications: None.

Modifications Planned: Trade in for a new Z06.

What do you like best about Corvettes?  Style, power, reasonable comfort and reliability for long road trips...Like the reliability needed for a Corvette Caravan across the USA.  (When we were newly married, we talked about how nice it would be to take a trip with our Corvette across the USA.  Well, we finally did that trip, not only once, but twice with the Corvette Caravans in 1999 and the 50th Corvette Anniversary in 2003.)

How long have you been a member of RCC?  12+ years.

What offices have you held or runs you've put on? We put on one run and have done Phone Tree call-arounds for approximately 11 years.

What do you like about RCC? RCC is a well run organization with experienced leadership, of which we greatly appreciate!  The club provides members with pleasant place to gather and the opportunity meet others with similar interests.

Other Facts: We have been married for 41+ years and the Corvette has been a part of our lives from the beginning.  In the early years we did the usual family things, entertaining the kids with camping, fishing, and soccer. (Yes, Carolyn was a "Soccer Mom")  Through all this, the Corvette was waiting for us in the garage.  Fast forward:  Kids grown (Julie now 40 and Bill 37), three wonderful grandkids (Alissa 9, Hayley 7, and Ethan 3), we're very busy and most of the time the Corvette is still waiting for us in the garage.

Thank you River City Corvette Club for the great leadership, great friends, great drives, great destinations and lots of wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
